The revised Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 came into force on 6 April 2018. The revision to Regulation 36(A) introduces flexibility in the timing of landlords’ gas safety checks.

The revised Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 came into force on 6 April 2018. The revision to Regulation 36(A) introduces flexibility in the timing of landlords’ gas safety checks.

The new regulations, outlined in Industry Standard Update 079, state that a landlords gas safety check can be carried out any time between 10 and 12 months after the previous check, whilst still preserving the expiry date of the original check.

The Landlords factsheet on the Gas Safe Register website has been updated to reflect this information.
